“Throughout the many years I’ve been in this industry, it continues to bring me great joy and satisfaction to know that I am making a difference in the lives of seniors.”
Lauren Piscatelli, Director of Lifestyles
In her role as Director of Lifestyles, Lauren Piscatelli strives to enhance residents’ overall wellness – while helping them continue to grow. “There are so many other aspects to wellness – physical, spiritual, intellectual – and it all adds value to everybody’s lives.”
Lauren’s unique background in everything from skydiving to yoga gives her a special perspective that Highpoint residents appreciate – and she is happy to pursue her passions as the community continues to grow. “It’s a natural fit to do what I truly enjoy doing and fulfill my hopes and dreams while helping others to fulfill theirs.”
After the loss of her beloved husband of 61 years, West Virginia native Kay Sowards realized she would benefit from moving closer to her adult children in South Carolina. She was instantly at ease at Highpoint in her spacious new apartment and was even able to bring much of her furniture when she moved. “It was a little bit concerning going from a large home to an apartment, but I am so pleased with the size of the rooms here and the closet space is great.”
Without the inconvenience of home maintenance and upkeep, Kay has been able to focus on staying active, spending time with family and developing new friendships while living at Highpoint. “I couldn’t have asked for a better situation. I’m amazed at everything that’s offered here and everything they do for us.”
Joann Jeffries came to the realization that it was time for a change. She was turning 80, experienced a health setback and had lost her husband seven years prior. “I’m very lucky that I’m still active, playing golf and seeing friends. But being at Highpoint has given me the opportunity to enjoy the time that I have and to do what’s good for me now that my husband is no longer here.”
She found exactly what she was looking for at our beautiful, new community – most importantly, she feels greater reassurance in having a plan in place for the future.
Jean and Otto Funderburk knew they wanted to settle into a senior living community while they still have time to enjoy it. They discussed their decision with their children, toured the beautiful community of Highpoint at Fort Mill and haven’t looked back since. They’re thoroughly enjoying the community’s dining program and exercise classes, and are looking forward to meeting more bridge partners.
“We moved in very early on and have been exceptionally pleased. All of the residents living here are a very nice group of people and we have made some good friends in a short amount of time,” Otto said.
